I was fortunate to study this approach with its originator, John McTimoney. Having practised it since 1981 I continue to enjoy working with this gentle, powerful and effective technique of adjusting the spine and other joints in the body, restoring better nerve function, ease and mobility. I have treated young babies following birth trauma, people in their nineties and all ages in between.
What can you expect? On average I will see people for two to six sessions, depending on the severity of the problems and how long they have been there. During the first session I will take a full case history, explain more fully what I plan to do, give you a physical examination and then a whole body McTimoney Chiropractic treatment. This first session will last about an hour. Follow-up treatments tend to be shorter but still involve giving you a full treatment after finding out each time how you have responded.
I am very keen to look at prevention of future problems and consider working with you in a partnership, so I might suggest various lifestyle changes including posture, exercise and diet. Once the problems you came with have been resolved or improved enough, I often suggest future check-ups once or twice a year, for maintenance of good alignment, health and well-being. People who take advantage of this really appreciate the benefits.
